SPEAK Test The SPEAK test is administered to international students who have been or will be appointed as teaching assistants at the University of South Florida. Note: It typically takes two or three weeks to get results for a SPEAK test. SPEAK tests done just before or during ELI semester breaks (click here for our schedule) will take longer. Making a SPEAK Test AppointmentPlease email us the day and time that you would like to take the SPEAK test. We usually do tests on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will confirm an appointment day and time. (Yes / No) If yes, when and where did you take it? Preparing for the SPEAK Test Please review the scoring guidelines and the practice SPEAK test before your scheduled test. The test takes about 20 minutes. The SPEAK test is given at the English Language Institute in Cooper Hall, room 443. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment. Repeating a SPEAK Test If you do not pass the SPEAK test, please note that we only test a person once per semester. If you have a score of 45, you may be eligible for a teaching demonstration.
